A great piece of nostalgia left behind from the old
Melo-Tone building.
One of my favorite pieces I saw during the tour.
I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of 130 Broadway the
other day. Some of you might remember it
as the old Melo-Tone Vending Company building.
Jon took me on a great tour of the facility which currently houses PSG Framing, a custom frame shop, located at the rear of the building and if all
goes according to plan it will hold La Brasa restaurant in the future.
I was impressed by Jon’s dedication to the neighborhood and
his commitment to investing in Somerville’s future.

Last Tuesday evening I held a neighborhood meeting regarding
the new development proposed for 90 Washington Street. I appreciated all the e-mails and telephone
calls I received from people who were unable to attend due to illnesses,
weather or prior commitments. Because I
received so many I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be holding
another one regarding this development sometime in early March and will keep
everyone informed as to the exact date.

I wanted to let people know that I have received
communication from the Department of Transportation (DOT) regarding the pedestrian
lighting under Route I-93 along Broadway near the Sullivan Square T
Station. The DOT is looking into the
issue and I am hoping to set up a field meeting with all parties involved.
