Last night I witnessed Somerville Firefighter Gerard Gover being promoted to Captain. Gerard's father - Bobby - was there to witness his son being sworn in. Bobby, retired from 43 years as a Somerville Firefighter never missed a day's work in all of those 43 years. The whole family is an amazing example of generations of Public Safety careers which you can tell from the photo above. Congratulations Gerard.
